Rowen Pillai, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of LeanTechnovations, boasts almost a decade of experience spanning multiple sectors, including finance, professional services, industrial, and retail.
Rowen has made his mark by leading initiatives in value optimization and establishing high standards in operational practices, grounded in his dedication to Lean methodologies, digital transformation, and data-informed decision-making.
His professional journey began at KPMG, progressed into the retail sector with Kingsley Heath, and culminated in his leadership as Group Financial & Operations Director at the Transcend Group before founding his own venture.This trajectory not only intensified his passion for Lean principles and technology but also refined his expertise in business management, operational efficiency, and growth enablement.
Rowen’s focus has always been on achieving tangible results, and he has been instrumental in effecting transformation, embedding a mindset of continuous enhancement, and utilizing technology and data analytics to drive informed business strategies.
In addition, he maintains roles as a Trustee for the Inqolobane Investment Trust, a Director of the Black Industrialists Group, Inqolobane Investment Managers, and various other board positions.
BRUCE HUNT
(Chartered Financial Analyst, Masters of Business Administration)
Bruce Hunt, Managing Director of Transcend, boasts almost two decades of experience across diverse sectors, including finance, professional services, and consulting.
He is an accomplished BEE and ESOP corporate finance advisor to multinational and large South African companies and serves as MD of a boutique corporate finance firm specializing in Employee Share Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) ownership structuring.
His professional journey began at Investec Bank, where he worked as a trader and structured finance specialist, enriching his financial prowess and providing insights he carries today.
Bruce’s consulting expertise encompasses empowerment ownership, BEE partner selection, deal structuring, employee ownership trusts, and sourcing strategic black investors. He designs tax-efficient structures to enhance value and maximize BEE Ownership Points under Code 100.
Previously, he set up CIDA City Campus’s Empowerment Foundation, managing a portfolio exceeding R250m. Alongside his commitments, he lectures on Corporate Strategy for Milpark Business School’s MBA program and advises on BEE in renewable energy projects. Bruce is also Co-Founder and Director of LeanTechnovations, Black Industrialists Group, Inqolobane Investment Managers, and various other board positions.
